What is this? can I disconnect it for a spark plug change?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

In the middle of a spark plug change after just purchasing a 2017 8V 1.5 COD TFSI with the DADA engine. Spark plug changes are not as easy as they used to be!

After removing everything to get to the plugs, on reassembling I'm finding it extremely difficult to refit a new retaining clip in the boost pipe where it meets the intercooler. Boost pipe pic. below...

To be able to much more easily refit the retaining clip, I could do with disconnecting the following pipe...

My questions are... (1) does anybody know what this is?; (2) can I disconnect it without making more work for myself?; and (3) how can I disconnect this type of connector?

Any help with this would be much appreciated. Determined to finish this job myself!
