A8 D3 air con fault

Featured Replies

Hi all.  My A8 has a system leak in the air con.  Had the radiator replaced which was leaking which led to another leak coming from the back of engine area.   Think it might be the evaporator.

I have heard nightmares about changing the evaporator yet when I look up the workshop manual this seems straightforward.  It's the air con unit that needs the whole car taking apart...

So.  Advice and experience please.  Should I get the unit tested with dye etc. So we can confirm where the system leak is... Any experience of changing an evaporator here?

Hi dye testing is a must as that will show exactly where the leak is rather than guessing, can't help you with the evaporator unit change but that item is odds on favourite as the moisture rots it out.
