2009 S Line Boot wont open

Featured Replies

New member here so please don't crucify me if I get it wrong 🙂

I have a 2009 S Line sportsback with intermittent door locking issues and it has now affected the boot and sunroof!

The doors dont bother me half as much as the boot issue as I cant get into it at all unless I go through the back seats and for someone who like to hit kerbs its quite unfortunate and I need access to the spare wheel!!

So far we have tried the following and it hasnt fixed the fault:

New Switch

New Boot handle (whole unit including lights)

The rear number plate lights work in both the new and old unit so I don't think its electrical...

Any ideas before I spend money getting it plugged in to be looked at please 🙂

Edited to add - I ordered an 8P switch and it was wrong so I ordered an 8v switch and it was correct... Mine is a 2009 model so confused why 8v is on it? ANy ideas?

Nothing is working, The fob wont work, there is no option to open the boot with a key and the locking mechanism to open the boot isn't working either even after changing the switch and boot handle. There is power to the boot as the number plate lights work but the boot will not open unless you crawl in and manually unlatch it from the inside

Drivers door and drivers rear door always unlocks, the other 2 are intermittent... apologies, I thought you were asking about the boot, not the whole vehicle.

Now we are getting somewhere. If I understand correctly the right front & rear door locks always work, the left front & rear door locks sometimes work, while the boot lock never works.

The drivers door lock is the important one here as it controls all the others. I suspect there is a fault on that lock and suggest you get it tested either by an auto electrician or by Audi. It is not an uncommon problem.

Thank you very much. Ill contact an auto electrician and go from there...
