Airbag module info

Featured Replies

wondering if anyone has had the same issue or knows how I can resolve this one.
I have a 2013 A6 avant 2.0 diesel. The airbag warning light has come on and I’m trying to find a fix. Had I diagnosed to the passenger airbag. I’ve tried replacing the passenger airbag but no luck. Recently tried the passenger airbag module with a fault free part from eBay. Found out it needs coding to the car but anyone that plugs into it can risk their licence due to not knowing the history of the part. I have the Vin number of the car it came off but it’s still a risk to them.
Any help with resolving this issue would be great.
thank you

Phil

Hi Phil afraid i can't help you with an answer but I have a similar fault with my 2013 A6 Avant 2.0 diesel, I just wondered how you'd got it diagnosed down to being the passenger airbag?

Did you pay someone to scan it on VCDS? If so was it expensive? Or did you manage to diagnose it yourself? Any help/insight appreciated.

I had it diagnosed at a local Audi “specialist “. They have all the VAG diagnostic equipment. They charged me 3 hours labour (£240) and said they wanted to order a module from Audi (£770+vat) to prove it then I could return the module and get a proven second hand one. Think they were just guessing. Unfortunately I’m back to square one and racking my brains for what the best next solution to try is.

I recall reports here of frequent damage to the module under the passenger seat, though I uncertain which Audi model was involved. Search the forum history to learn more.

Hi. Thank you. Shall try and look into this. Much appreciated.
