A3 Satnav Update

I bought a used (2020) A3 12 months ago. I have been trying ever since to get the satnav SD card updated.

The correspondence with Audi, boils down to them saying that the car was specified without Satnav update, and therefor, I cannot get an update. The only solution offered is a new SD card, which when loaded, will cost £500. 

Any suggestions please.
