Hesitant accelerator and gearshift holding

Featured Replies

Has anyone experienced an intermittent issue with accelerator hesitancy when starting from standstill (in both reverse and fwd) then it suddenly picks up also the gearshift holding until the revs are a lot higher than normal (as though you have it in sport mode). If I stop, switch off and start up again it usually resets itself. Audi dealer can't help as there are no warning signs or any notices on diagnostic check. Really annoying and poss dangerous (warranty ends Mar 25) Audi won't confirm they will cover should it get worse after this date.

Ken.

I don't know what the problem is, but a problem definitely exists judging by the behaviour you describe. If your Audi dealer can not, or will not, solve it I suggest you take it elsewhere before the guarantee expires, and notify the vendor that he will be charged for the repair.

Hi Cliff,

I replied or at least I think I did (not used this forum before). As Oldham cannot find the issue with any diagnostic check etc I'm not sure other garages would be able to. I was hoping that someone may have experienced similar issues.

Cheers Ken

As the car is only two years old and still under gaurantee, you should not need to trawl the internet for a solution. You are entitled to a fix from Audi.

It's true that most of us here have little faith in Audi dealers, but that should not stop you trying a different one. Better still try an independant VAG specialist which will have more interest in providing a good service, though I'd advise notifying your dealer of your intention and a possible charge against him.

Thanks Cliff - getting some legal advice on the warranty issue, but may still take your advice. Audi basically say there is no fault found so there is no issue but 'please keep a log on the occasions it does happen' . Without a diagnostic query code, they are clueless - no real mechanics, just slaves to a computer.
