Starter won't disengage

Featured Replies

I have an 2013 Audi A3 (8V), when I try to start the engine and allow the key to go from start to normal position the starter is still trying to start the engine. When I turn the key to the off position is does stop then. I have replace the Starter relay and starter, but didn't fix the problem. The next option I have is the Starter Switch and I want to ask before I remove the switch if anything else could cause this issue.

  Thanks James

Welcome James,

Sounds that the switch is at fault.
It’s difficult to follow the logic of replacing the starter motor ( or relay) since both were working, but being triggered when they shouldn’t be.
Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hello James,

You appear to have joined and posted on the same day - November 28th, and don’t appear to have returned since.
Do you have any update for us please?

The car is running good now and thanks for the help.

So what was the cause of the issue then James, since you seem to have marked the thread as Solved, but don’t give us  anything about the actual cause?
