Your right i should have said.I neeed to change the oil pressure gauge in the dash so i have to remove the centre consul to gain access to it however i am stuck as to how to remove the hand brake cover so i can then take the consul out.The gauge is not working and I have changed the oil pressure sensor  so if any one can think of anything else i can check before i remove the consul that would be great. As a reference the gauge is in a block of 3 gauges which are battery voltage ,oil pressure and oil temp gauge and it is only the oil pressure gauge that is not working it looks like it has power because it flickers once the ignition is turned on.I would really appreciate any advice.

Hello Steven,

My opinion ( and hope there will be others):-

Electrically operated gauges are generally very reliable, and it’s quite rare that they are the source of problems. They are really just ammeters, fed varying resistances by a sender unit.
You say you have renewed the sender, and could you confirm that it was from a reliable source and brand?
Have you checked wiring and connections?
Have you connected a working (mechanical type) oil pressure gauge to where the sender goes, to establish you have got reasonable oil pressure?
Kind regards,

Gareth.

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it the sensor was for this model car and i will check the connections because it could be as simple as a lose connection on the sender or on the back of the gauge but to check gauge i have to remove the handbrake cover to get the consul out.
