Hello I’m new to this but was wondering if anyone has had the same thing happen or similar I brought my car less then a year ago and for the last 6 months had the same issue keep happening it will start up fine and then all of a sudden it will cut out whilst driving and comes up with a message on the dash saying stop start fault and brings up the glow plug light I’ve had a new battery fitted so don’t think it’s that. Sometimes it will only happen the once and then carry on like normal but other times I won’t it will keep cutting out when I go to pull back off it’s been to quite a few garages and no seems to find what the problem is as it resets it’s self after a while 

anyone had a similar problem ?

Thanks for joining. To eliminate the simple things first:- 

Was the new battery coded to the car? 
Have you had the alternator output checked? 
(In that order).

Hello thanks for the reply the battery has been coded but I don’t think the outlet of the alternator has been checked could it be an issue with the alternator?

As with any battery, it’s only as efficient as the equipment that recharges it, so yes, the alternator output is critical. 
What make battery was fitted as a matter of interest?

It was exide 

I'm having the same problem. Intermittent cut outs. Audi specialist could not find fault.

Last cut out on motorway at 70mph!

Its dangerous!

stop start fault is what i got from low car battery and the sensor on my post here
