Question regarding myaudi app & remote auxiliary heating

Featured Replies

Hello, just signed up and looking for some help, I recently bought a 2019 A5 Sportback 2.0 Diesel, after sorting out registering etc on the myaudi app, I looked through the "audi functions store", and it then the "remote services" section where it said amongst other things "remote auxiliary heating" was available for my car, so having paid the 4 quid to test it out, I cant find that option anywhere in the myaudi app.

Everything else seems to show fine, like car location, fuel levels and shows its all locked up, lights off and windows are up etc, just not a thing about the remote heating, ive honestly spent hours searching online for info on it, and found replies saying everything from its not ever been an option in the UK, to the car needs its own data sim/wifi connection for that option to be available, hoping someone here can help, and im just being dense and not spotting something obvious.

cheers

Hi. Apologies I can’t offer any help with this but as a new owner myself I am in the exact same position. Did you ever resolve this?

Hello both.

Not sure if Riddy ever found out why, but I did the exact same thing, and after (a LOT) of back and forth with Audi connect, I was informed that my 2018 A5 (or any others before 2020) were not fitted with the auxiliary heater required to allow remote heating.

This was confusing, since on the spec list on my myaudi app for the car, it clearly lists auxiliary electric heater, but when speaking to the Audi guy on the phone (pretty certain he was, in fact, a robot....) I told him that the app states the car must be fitted with the aux heater, and the spec says it is, but he simply kept repeating that the car was not compatible.

Eventually after speaking to someone else, they advised that apparently this was only started to be built in to the cars to be able to remotely operate the heater from 2020 onwards, so A5's from 2018, 2019, and some 2020 will not be able to access this feature.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I did receive a response from Audi Connect yesterday basically stating that this facility is not available which confirms what you have found.
