Audi s3 2017 - flashing engine light/ battery not charging

Featured Replies

Hi guys im new to this page and would appreciate if someone could help. Last week i had my camshaft magents and coil packs changed as the car was idling rough at standstill and missfiring which was a reoccurring theme for a long time.Although no faults were showing i was told to replace cammagnets and coilpacks by the mechanic. On doing so although the idling not as as bad as before it was still there. I had the car serviced few months prior aswell. Today whilst i pulled i to the petrol station the engine not charging message appeared on dash. I managed to drive home but have since started the car and now also getting ‘flashing engine light symbol’ aswell. Can you please help as to what this could potentially mean. Up until now since having the car neither faults have shown up before. Thanks

Welcome Mohammad,

You first have to get the alternator output check - should be around 14.5V. Then, when the battery is charged, you will need to get its efficiency checked.
Please let us know how you get on.
Where is Tochdale?
Kind regards,

Gareth.
