HonBruce2001 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Allowed a friend to plug in her iphone to charge it from USB-C socket by gearstick… next thing the car starts uploading her data / removes my sat-nav data etc …. after overnight & after a couple of restarts it eventually restores me as key user etc. Suggestions please on how to do a simple charge - should I use the rear seat sockets or will the issue be repeated?
cliffcoggin Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Evidently it was a data socket she plugged into, which is what one would expect on modern cars in order to connect the infotainment system to a phone. Better to use a non data socket next time, or find a way in the menu to disable data transfer at the front socket, though would defeat the purpose of buying such a sophisticated system.
