A4 Avant tailgate rear windscreen spoiler parts numbers

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I haven't posted before but have looked online but cant find so far, so I thought I'd ask...

I have deflectors or spoilers on the rear windscreen that I think are made of glass or hard acrylic, the left hand (drivers) side of which is chipped at the top. Perhaps as a consequence the underlying seal is perishing and looks tatty on close inspection - it may may limited functional difference but I was wondering if that could be a home DIY replaceable part and if it comes with the weather seal attached?

Not sure if anyone has experience of replacing this, and if you know the OEM part number for me to speak with a dealer (if needbe). So far all the dealer parts folks want me to complete an online form which is fine but I am not clear on what this part is actually called.

It’s a rear window spoiler or glass deflector. Black glossy 8W9854871B5FQ and 8W9854872B5FQ.

Double check with Audi parts or TPS. Note there’s a specific adhesive tape too. Old tape would would need to be removed, cleaned and area prepped with rubbing alcohol before fitting.

I got in touch with TPS and they have ordered the part and the tape for around £90 anI can pick up Friday, so great result! The guy was struggling to find the workshop repair manual for this job. Would you know where I might be able to locate this guide?  Again any help really appreciated, thanks!

Hello Malcolm,

Glad you have sorted the parts. Could you confirm TPS will deal with you as a non-trade customer? They won’t in this area.
Regards,

Gareth.

I think so as he ordered the parts in for collection friday and quoted a figure inuding Vat.  He said I could pay at the counter so I'm assuming no issues but will confirm once secured or not.

To see workshop repair, you'll need access to ErWin (pay to view). There is no physical manual as such.

As far as I know its double sided tape. You could use a hairdryer to heat up. Then anti-marr trim tools to prize off. Preparation is everything, so take your time and ensure area is spotless.

Thanks very much. Yes I have some plastic pry tools and a hairdryer ( not mine :)) so will do as you suggest. It is just a fancy strip of double sided foam adhesive and I'm not worried about breaking the already broken spoiler. Just will try toprep and align well.
