Hi folks cut a long story short I'm thinking of purchasing a 2023 sq5 2l tfsi45 it currently has 17000 miles but was serviced in 2025 with 14000 on clock ! Should these cars not be serviced annually ?? Or is a two year plan common ?

thanks for any input

Or put it this way would it deter any of you guys buyin a vehicle with only 1 service after 24 months , albeit only done 14 k miles ??

Customer can stick them on 2 year service intervals or up to 18k miles. No oil can protect an engine that long, as the oil loses its viscosity and comes out like water. Trouble is, engine faults won't show up usually once the car is outside warranty, 3 years down the line. My advice, for what it's worth, given this will still be expensive purchase is to shop around.

Thanks for that ! Yeah I was a bit dubious I used too change my s3 every 7k just too keep it right

For me it would depend on how many months have elapsed between first registration and first service. Is it the full 2 years or less? Registered Dec 2023 and serviced in Jan 2025 would only be 13 months. Registered Jan 2023 and serviced August 2025 is 32 Months so really more detail is required for a definite answer.

If you're saying it's gone the full 24 months for 14k miles it should have been on fixed intervals. Personally I wouldn't be too worried but would go with the fixed schedule going forward.

Registered may 23 first service June 25 at 14000 miles 🤷‍♂️ I’m not sure if it’s been driven hard etc

Yeah that's what I thought it might be and I edited my post. It should have been on fixed 12 month servicing (less than 10k miles per year) but personally I wouldn't be worried about it but there are probably many on here who would be.

Trouble is you never know how a car has been driven even if it has been serviced regularly. I've previously had a Q5 similarly serviced when I got it and had no trouble at all. Like I said it wouldn't worry me but based on what you said about your S3 servicing you may disagree.

I think you're more likely to get more problems with electricals or transmission and ancilliaries than you are with the parts of the engine affected by the oil change. If the car had gone 5 or 6 years on the same intervals I would think twice.

If it's Audi approved then should be fine if not then I would walk away.

It's just occurred to me the 2023 SQ5 is a TDI not TFSI. Did you mean SQ5?

My bad 😊 it's a q5 2.0 tfsi 45

Ah ok. As I said, if it's Audi Approved I'd have no problem going for it. If not I'd need to thoroughly check the service was done on time within the leeway Audi would allow for warranty claims. I think it's 30 days leeway.

It's Audi approved 👍

Then I think you should go for it. Enjoy it if you do.
