I have an Audi A4 Avant 2016 and while having the brake discs and pads replaced the mechanic pointed out a black box under the car that is not seen before and asked me what it is. I've tried Google lens and asking friends but nobody knows what it is

Can anybody help identify this please?

Thanks

I don't believe it can be Audi equipment. The fancy perforations in the metal sheet and flimsy securing straps suggest it has been cobbled together by an owner. Whether the purpose is innocent or nefarious I have no idea.

Thanks for confirming that. If I find out what it is I will post back here

Hi the pictures not that clear, but a serious guess, its fuel filter cover and someones snapped/lost the fixings ad Heath Robinsoned the rest with cable ties.

Steve.
