Hi everyone, unfortunately my battery went flat, so I bought a new one, but that also drained after just two days. I measured the current draw and got 0.26 amps even after locking the car. The handbrake warning light on the dashboard also stays on and doesn’t switch off.

I also noticed a strange noise coming from the windscreen washer tank, and at the same time the car makes a sound similar to when you insert a key into the ignition.

Does anyone know what could be causing this issue?

Hi, if it was a cheap battery, and you did not code it in there lies the problem, no coding means it will carry on charging at the same rate as the old battery.

Hi, it’s not a cheap battery, it’s a 105Ah Banner AGM, and I had it coded after replacement.

Hi shame you did not mention that in your original post would have saved the wrong possible diagnosis, ah well good luck.

Your best bet Gabor, is to get the car scanned on a decent code reader.
