Registration A10VKV for sale - Audi 10Valve KV

Featured Replies

One for the geeks to appreciate: A10VKV describes Audi 10Valve KV 5cyl engine code from the 1980s. Currently assigned to my car but I have no particular interest in the number (it came with the car) and I'd rather have the correct age related number back and some cash to pay for repairs/parts. Regtransfers.co.uk recently valued the number at £500 but this is what they reckon to pay me, the price they would ask would be higher. I'm open to sensible offers. I have not yet put the number on a V778 retention document as I wanted to assess interest before shelling out the £80 fee. Happy to work with anyone interested to get the number assigned online to their car - check out the process on the government website for details. If there is no interest here I may put it on retention and list it with Regtransfers.co.uk.

Thanks Adrian,

By what I understand, there are any obstacles for placing the number with R.T. at this stage and organising the retention certificate when they have a buyer.
I genuinely wish you luck, but I had a  more desirable number with them for around 8 years and no sale. I eventually reunited it with the donor car.
Regards,

Gareth.

Thanks Gareth. I've had another number on retention with them for several months with no sale. They offer a price to you as a seller then add an unrealistic margin for themselves. When it doesn't sell they expect you as the seller to take the hit and reduce the price for them. I'm hoping that someone on here will recognise the value of the number to an Audi enthusiast. The offer price to me was £500 so i expect they would offer it on their website at closer to £700. I may yet put A10VKV on retention anyway so at least any hurdles with DVLA are tackled and the number is ready to transfer. We shall see.

Thanks Adrian,

I think we have to recognise that their operating costs must be considerable, when you consider the advertising and system they have to pay for.
Glad you agree that there no great disadvantages in delaying listing it with them.’ Getting it out there’ can only increase the chances of you finding a buyer.
