Headlamps issue

Featured Replies

Hi all i have a bit of an issue with my headlamps.Had my a5 from 2014 for over a year not sure when exacly the issue started but my headlamps are freeking a bit when gets dark lamps seems to sit loo low on the ground i would say bo more than 5 meter on fton of the car when turning steering wheel right lamps go high up in the sky and blinding others not goes back untill turn steering left or there is an uneven bumpy road.got the car in the garage 2 wreks ago to get it adjusted they charged me 66quid for an hour labour and ive been told that'they were all over the place' and they adjusted and reset the computer however drove couple days later and there is no difference at all so apart from been robbed by 66 quid the problem still there.does anyone have any advise what could it be? Possibly could also recomend someone who could help with repair not rip me off and actually fix the issue in warwickshire?

Are your headlights xenon bulbs? If there’s headlight washers on the bumper, then chances are they are. On the front and rear passenger side (they are on an Avant), there will be headlight height adjustment actuators. There’s a little mechanical arm and balljoint, which has probably corroded or broken.

A visual check will confirm, you’ll need the wheel off for a proper look. VCDS will confirm if you know anyone that has the software. They are usually attached to the lower arms.

Don’t buy cheap Chinese  after-market parts.  Search on Autodoc for a decent supplier. Sometimes even genuine Audi isn’t too bad price wise.
