U112400 - Data bus - Additional Installation Detected

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

This is my very first post in a forum, and I have to admit — I’m a bit desperate…

I bought my A3 over 2 years ago. At the time, I had a Carista and there was a fault code U112400, but I ignored it for a while. A few months ago, I got an OBDEleven and started digging deeper. I’ve read countless threads across forums and tried almost everything, but I can’t get rid of the fault. I've tried with ChatGPT and Gemini - but they don’t seem very familiar with the VAG vehicles 😉

So as I said I'm getting a bit desperate and was wandering if someone has similar vehicle may be you can share the long coding for the gateway module, so I can compare it? ’m not asking for blind copy-paste — I just want to compare byte-by-byte to see what might be causing the “Additional installations detected” fault.

* My Audi has the technology pack (with virtual cockpit) and I disconnected and uncoded the phone box (it was useless), rear parking sensors (only), auto lights and rain sensors as standard, as far as I know nothing has been retrofitted.

Here is the fault I'm getting:

VIN: WAUZZZ8V0KA043894
    Car: Audi
    Year: 2019
    Body type: UNKNOWN
Engine: DADA  kW ( hp) l
    Mileage: 95205 km

---------------------------------------------------------------
19 Gateway
        System description: GW MQB High
        Software number: 3Q0907530AA
        Software version: 4366
        Hardware number: 3Q0907530C
        Hardware version: 442
        Serial number: 0008729094

        Faults:
                U112400 - Data bus
            Additional installations detected
                static

And in case someone can actually read the long coding and translate it in English, here it is for mine:

03 01 00 04 3F 08 56 00 5B 00 02 4A 08 0B 00 00 00 01 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

PS. I should mention that I’ve made a lot of changes in the Gateway module over time — roughly 95% have been reverted to factory values, but this is the code as it currently stands.

Any help will be much appreciated, TIA!

Hi Clifford, thanks for the reply!

I really want to know what's causing it, but as I've tried so many things and nothing worked I think I'll be happy if it just disappears 🙂

Have you got any suggestions what I can try, I'm happy to provide more info if needed?

* btw I'm using OBDeleven on iOS, which is slightly restricted compared to the Android devices (as far as I know) and resetting of the gateway module doesn't really work...

Have you installed anything like reverse camera or extra equipment, likely that even thou it works the car is missing some coding of basic settings that the gateway module is detecting
