Hi everyone

I have owned a 2025 A3 35 black edition from new since June and have recently noticed something which I am trying to confirm is a fault or not. When I open the boot at night I have noticed that the outer lights on the body are slightly brighter than the boot lights and when I close the boot the outer lights on the body almost sort of flicker and then dim to the same colour and brightness to match the boot lights. Obviously this isn’t noticeable in the daytime. Could someone confirm whether this is normal please. Thank you 

If not sure if recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up

I have an identical model to yours and can confirm that mine does the same. The outside tail lights go brighter as soon as I unlatch the tailgate and dim again when it closes.

I don't think it's a fault, there's no flickering just a definite on/off that seems to suggest that it's deliberate even though I can't think why.
