MHEV battery issue? Need help quick

Featured Replies

Hi all. I had previously posted re issues with my A6 TDI 40 and things have escalated. The dealer had said they had replaced the mechatronic and were found to have lied. As things are going legal, I would appreciate some input.

Besides coasting oddly, the car also did the following-

  • Physically would not go into reverse from day 1
  • Got stuck in 1st in manual and would not shift up
  • Displayed "Engine Failure" alert and went into limp mode

The dealer is hiding behind "no fault logged" but I believe all of the above are documented problems relating to the 48v MHEV unit and comms issues between it and the TCU/ECU modules.

Can someone validate my suspicion or point me to a thread on it?

Thanks.

Michael.

I doubt anybody can positively confirm your suspicions, but having seen the enormous number of problems listed in these forums arising from mild hybrid I believe you are probably right. Search the forums for topics involving "mild hybrid" and you will see many and various problems related to the system. Even if you do not find one that matches yours, you will see that the system is unreliable and many Audi dealers are denying responsibility.
