Mmi screen

Featured Replies

Hi I’m a new to me owner of a 2013 q7 purchased today at a discounted rate as it has a few problems to sort but 1 of the main problems is the Mmi screen is just black not switching on at all still got radio working and buttons on centre console work so don’t think it could be water damage tried forced reset but still won’t come on has anyone had similar problem if so could you please point me in the right direction

First thing to do is run a scan on the car with VCDS, especially if you know the car has a few problems to sort, then you know exactly what you’re dealing with.

This is a good video on a blank MMI screen on a 2009 Q7. Very methodical approach. Turns out there was damage to the central control from a spilled drink, but there’s also a 15A fuse behind the radio that brought the MMI screen back to life, although functionality was still an issue until the central controller circuit board was replaced due to corrosion.

Thanks I watched this video before but it just threw me because I still have radio functionality and buttons still light up also but I’m still going to strip it out and check
