Hi all,

Looking for some guidance on a noise issue on a 2022 Audi A6 Avant 40 TFSI (C8). I’ve attached a couple of short videos—would really appreciate if you could listen and share your thoughts.

Symptoms:

- Fast, rhythmic clicking noise when turning

- Happens under acceleration/load (not noticeable when coasting)

- Frequency increases with speed

- Sounds like it’s coming from the front/undercarriage area

In the videos:

- The noise is clearest during turns under throttle

- You should be able to hear a rapid, repeating clicking that speeds up with wheel rotation

Additional observations:

- No warning lights on the dash

- No noticeable vibration through the steering wheel

- Not a single clunk — it’s a continuous

Context:

- Recently purchased from a non-Audi dealer

- No known accident history

- No visible damage to CV bush from underside of the car

Question:

Does this sound like a CV joint (likely front right outer), or are there other common causes on the C8 A6 I should check first?

Also—on these cars, is it better to replace just the joint or the full driveshaft?

CV joints are the most likely suspects. If you bought the car within the last 30 days take it back to the dealer for free rectification.
