Ihave a 2010 A3 1.6tdi sportback with 73000 miles on the clock.

The diesel particulate filter light came on and i used the recommended method to clear it.When the warning light went out the 2 engine management lights came on ..one flashing coil and the static amber light.The car went into safety mode.

Local garage put it on computer but doesnt have access to a code to clear the lights and reccharge it.

One source recommended having the particulate filter removed and engine remapped so problem will not occur again.

Anyone any ideas....im going to have it on a specialists computer  but what can cause this ?

Whats the opinion on the removal idea?

Any comments or experiences would be welcome

Forgot to mention....i was told continued use in protection mode could cause turbo failure....is this scaremongering?
