B6 3.0 petrol cabriolet front wheel drive petrol pump

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I had a pump changed five weeks ago by a local garage and was an audi part bought from TPS. Broken down again and I had to take it to audi for them to check warranty for the pump. Maidstone audi have said that there was crap in my tank and that's why it failed but guy who fitted pump told me that was clean when fitted pump and had a really good look in there while working on it and I belive this guy.

I was hoping someone would may know the part number for the pump? From audi you have to buy the whole kit that cost me £360 but just need new pump alone. Going either strip out pump myself or getting taking a local garage as audi have said needs new fuel lines and maybe tank. It's done 130k and was hoping keep the car as still love it.

Hope someone can help out and thanks.

Hi mate

surely the fuel filter would have picked up the crap from the tank?

Also, not sure how much crap in the tank can kill the pump like that.

Sounds like the are trying to get out of it and also sell you more stuff while you are about it.
