Hi there. I am new to the site but I am running out of ideas and wondered if I could get advise/help.

I purchased a damaged A4 2.0 Tfsi SE Avant 2007 from an Insurance salvage company. The vehicle is very low mileage with full Audi history and has every extra so I took a chance. I have had the car repaired at an Audi approved repair shop. The car has been standing since November 2014 and the battery was flat and disconnected for about 12 months. Car is fully repaired and starts and drives as it should but I am not able to get it Mot'd as it has all of the brake and abs warning lights showing. I have had two local electrical engineers look at it and they have suggested that the ECU  has lost its memory and now will not recognise signals from the ABS and ESP units. From your knowledge and experience on here is this likely to be the case as they both have said there is no fault with the brake system. They have said that you can not get the codes unless you go to Audi?. Any help would be much appreciated as the cas has been repaired for over two months but still sits in my garage.

You will probably need to reset everything with vcds. Certain things like steering angle sensors etc need to be " taught" what they do. You should try and get hold of someone with vcds.
