Rear window heating

Featured Replies

Good day

I've just bought a A6 Le Mans 2.7 and when I turn on the rear window heater it interveres with the radio. Also the light to say a bulb is out come on but the lights are fine. Any ideas

Hi Jonathon...welcome to the club!

Not sure why the heated rear screen should interfere with the radio but the lights may in fact be a faulty bulb.

I would advise checking the bulbs individually as sometimes with CanBus if a bulb has failed the system will then send current to another bulb to illuminate instead (e.g. rear sidelight/brakelight). So if you look carefully at which bulb is illuminating and also if in doubt, remove each bulb in turn and see if there is a loose cap or slightly burnt out.

Let us know how you get on

Hi Trevor,

thanks for the advice, it was a loose bulb. All sorted out now
