Hi. Have had an Audi Cabriolet, year 2000 for some years now, it is now my partners runaround. Love the car to bits and still think it is one of the prettiest cars around. Being an engineer have just had son in law rebuild the engine and suspension as the car has now done 125,000 miles. She still goes like a rocket and the car is pretty quick too for a 1.8 without a turbo. Worst problem was intermittent misfire and static acceleration. Hence engine rebuild, new tensioner chain and belt, refurbished injectors and new throttle body and air mass sensor then programme reset. Now back to like new. Jobs to do: repair to drivers seat and drivers side carpet ( high heals make holes). Biggest problem, getting an exhaust system for less than £1000, so lots of welding repairs. Looks like it will get a custom stainless exhaust for about £600. That's it. Look forward to exchanging chats with you all and meeting at events, after all it is a classic now.

Hi Rob...welcome to the Club!

Sounds like a lovely car...have you got any pictures of it?

The aftermarket Stainless exhaust seems like the best bet for long term benefits of no corrosion and usually enhances the sound as well.l

Look forward to reading your posts on the forum
