Hi all, I have recently purchased an a3 tdi 140 on a 06 plate, so it has been fine but it has started to make a really loud rattling noise every now and then, it doesnt do it all the time, but when it does it is really loud, it goes away when i accelerate, i have recorded the noise on my phone but dont know how to upload a video to hear, its difficult to tell where the noise is coming from. it is a really tinny sounding noise, anyone come across something similar ???

Hi Dave....welcome to the Forum

It could be a standard Diesel Injector rattle when accelerating but just to be on the safe side of things I would definitely take it to a garage to check out oil quality and to confirm it's nothing disastrous.
