B7 S4 Non runner.. Advice needed!!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have a 2005 B7 S4 with 81k miles.

I have owned it for almost one year and since I bought it has not run particularly well and got progressively worse. Due to work commitments I only got around to having it looked at recently thinking it would be a simple fix, Plugs or coils etc.

The symptoms are, rough idle and ticks over basically ok but when driven and any load is applied there is a complete loss of power.

I have had it with a local independent garage and also MRC in Banbury and have no conclusive answer. There is some scoring to the bores and the compression is down  around 120psi . The indy garage suggested that it would need a rebuild (not by themselves) for which I have been quoted around £5-6k.

There has been the suggestion of blocked Cats by one of the garages and had that ruled out by the other due to normal temps on the sensors.

I am at a total loss as to what to do next.. Audi main dealers aren't interested and I cant find a reputable indy thats willing to get involved.

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.
