Just looking for some advice really as my father is thinking about going for a new Audi A3 1.4TFSI in the new year and wondered if he should be aware of any engine issues or auto gearbox issues. And what are the real world mpg figures?

Hi Aaron...welcome to the Forum

Not sure about the real world mpg figures but there are reliability concerns where a lot of drivers tend to hammer it along motorways thinking its a 2.0 litre and prematurely wearing the engine. Around town driving, don't believe there are too many issues as it is mainly designed for that type of use and where it would deliver the best economy and driveability.

I think it is a case of deciding what type of driving it would be subjected to therefore dictating whether a 1.4-litre petrol engine is the best way forward.
