Suspension height / spare parts.

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Brought this Audi a4 avant 1.8se for a measly £120, because someone had thought it a good idea to chop the springs to lower it, failed miserably and smashed the sump and the drivers window had dropped, i sourced all the parts from a breakers for £80, I have now fixed the car and it runs beautifully for what i paid for it, everything works air con, elec sunroof, heated seats etc. The only query i have is the height of the front is this what standared height should be? The springs and shocks came off a tdi a4 avant, would this make a difference?.

I am also looking for a passenger wing and front bumper in the colour code ly6r lorbeer green, which is proving hard to find, not a very common colour i think. Anyone breaking one in this colour?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steven...welcome to the Forum

I wonder if the springs are from a diesel engine version which would be heavier and therefore maybe the ride height is higher with only the weight of a petrol engine in it?

Otherwise, you got yourself a bargain there!

Cheers  Trevor
