minivanman1961 Posted January 31, 2017 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Evening all, Im having an issue with what seems to be the tailgate locking mechanism. The catch is working fine, however the warning light is staying lit on the dash as is the light on the inside panel of the tailgate. Since this fault has arose, the alarm keeps going off intermittently. I am guessing all these are related and possibly to a micro switch built into the locking mechanism. Any advice please? Trevor Posted February 1, 2017 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Hi Jason...welcome to the Forum It's usually water ingress on the VAG cars leaking onto the latch microswitch....you need to sort the leak and clean out the electrics.
