Engine failure on 3.0l V6

Featured Replies

Hi

I have owned a 2002 A4 Sports Quattro for just over a year it is a 3ltr V6 and has the vector kit, repairing whatever needed fixing and replacing any missing parts (jack point covers for example)

I've just had the wheel arches resprayed and she was looking OK. Now the bottom end has gone....I have had a quote of £1500 to £2000 to rebuild my engine.....is it worth it?

I don't particularly want to just scrap the car, is it worth trying to sell as spares or repairs or break myself and sell parts?

Any info would be most appreciated

I'm not 100% sure but I think it is cam shaft. It hasn't been opened up but a mechanic has had a listen, it still turns over but doesn't sound good. The only error showing is cam shaft sensor
