CD Player Skipping

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have a in-dash 6 Disc CD Changer in my 2006 Q7. However, when I try to play a CD, it keeps skipping every 2 second. I've tried the following to resolve the issue:

  • Tested multiple CD's
  • Used a lens cleaner kit
  • Tried different slots in the CD changer

All of which does not resolve the issue. I am resigned to the fact that I need to buy a new one, unless there is someone that can tell me how to resolve the issue. One thing i've also hear is that if the CD was swapped from another Audi, then the "component protection" may need to be removed by an Audi dealer.

Audi quoted me £350 for a new one and eBay gave some that are £250 for the model of the CD player I own, but there are others that are available on eBay that are cheaper and are also for Q7's.

My part number is:  4L0 035 110 (pics below)

I have seen other on eBay that are cheaper, but they have the following model numbers:

4E0035110A
4E0910110H
4E0035111A
4E0910111E

Does anyone know this CD player would be compatible  and will it need to be recoded? Or is there is a way to repair or resolve the issue.

Thanks

You are correct about CP . Taking your cd changer to a hifi/pc repair shop could be an option as they test it or clean/change the laser at a fraction of the price. You would not need to worry about cp if it works
