Alloy refurbishment and Tyre Recs

Featured Replies

Having saved myself a huge bill for an engine warning light problem I'm now going to bite the bullet and get my alloys refurbed - plus need to get a couple of new tyres.

Q1 - any recommendations for alloy refurbishment in and around the Reading/Berkshire are? - what should I be looking for/avoid. 1.8 TFSI from 2013 which has the 5 spoke 18 inch alloys - the ones with the channel in the spoke?

Q2 - when it comes to tyres - what a minefield/what a choice - The car came issued with Continental, I have no loyalty to any brand other than possibly Pirelli fro reasons of their calendar (haha) - so  any input from members ref tyres (performance to cost) would be welcomed.

Drive about 8k per year - not that much motorway

thanks

I have used Uniroyal Rainsport 3's on my old Astravan, the Skoda VRS and the Porsche Boxster. They have been fine. Perform well, quiet and reasonably priced. Will be sitting a set for the A3 when I take the winter wheels off.

Worth checking reviews.
