Bluetooth connectivity

So I've got an a4 57 plate s-line, and I've always thought when I have some time, I'll populate the phonebook manually. It was pointed out to me that there should be a way to be able to move numbers from my phone to the car phonebook without having to manually enter them. Recently I made a call and everything worked and connected up fine (even though I didn't need it then, and had forgot my phone bluetooth was even on). I tried it again today and the call was made from the car, stayed connected on my phone, but the car said "call disconnected". It also didn't connect for incoming calls even though the auto-answer function was turned on.

I appreciate this is a few queries in one, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
