I completed a 210 mile journey this week and lost half the coolant reservoir and there was a damp area near the water pump. At the end of my return journey 210 mile, no coolant was lost, very confused. However I think I am going to get the water pump replaced as this appears to be a poor area on these cars. Not however a cheap job.

The triangular apertures on the top ones would be a PITA to clean so I would get the bottom ones if it was me. I have 21" and they are too hard and crashy so looking for 18" if anyone has a set to sell.

Rain is undoubtedly getting into the boot, and until that leak is found and cured no amount of new locks will resolve the recurring alarm problem. Finding the leak is not going to be easy and I am not familiar enough with the cabriolet to know of specific weak points, so all I can do is give general pointers. Look at: -boot lid seal, -side/stop light seals, -holes in the boot floor (rain can be thrown up from the wheels).

Finally...the end to the saga. Car arrives at the dealership tomorrow and picking it up 3rd Jan. The good news it only took 4 months from ordering to deliver and not six months forecast. I still can't believe that an organisation the size of vw/audi can't/won't provide their customers with more information on the status of their cars or even have a basic user access where you key in an order number and it returns a status code.....at least you'd know what was happening. Anyway, good luck to those still waiting, fingers crossed but I'm out of here now 🙂

Welcome Alan, Any chance you could do a short recording of this noise? Am I allowed to introduce a little seasonal humour into this ‘…..when I accelerate I get a vibrating exhaust blowing noise’ - solution - cut down on the sprouts! Sorry, couldn’t resist that. Kind regards, Gareth.
