  1. Hi try turning the car on and turning the wheel left to full lock and then right full lock four times if this wont work it means your new steering angle sensor was not coded in when fitted. Steve.
  2. Haha ill be sure not to mate thank you. Im gonna be looking to find someone to fit it local to me before I spent the pennies.
  3. In a nut shell Audi UK will not honour their fu** up so other than the motor ombudsman there is nothing I can do to rectify their design flaw. Unfortunately I cant sell the vehicle as it is. Repairing it will cost at least £2k plus from Audi just to look at it as they are charging £180 per hour and require 8-10 hours just to strip the seat and carpet. Driving it could cause further damage to the vehicle, as the seat has now stopped functioning. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to share them, would be highly appreciated. Car is booked in to the garage on Wednesday hopefully they can sort it out. I think I may still contact the Motor Obudsman as I may not be the only one who has reported this to them. I will continue to keep you posted!!
  4. Yeah, touch screen is a bit laggy at times, but it’s a massive improvement on the original. I found the very bottom of the screen on mine to be less sensitive to touch. Music plays fine, I had no issues. It comes with its own mic for telephone calls / SIRI etc. don’t be a numpty and bury it behind the dash like I did. 😝 CarPlay is perfect. Spotify / Waze works with no issues at all.

Having owned an Audi A6 Avant for the last five years, I thought it time I joined. The A6 was sold yesterday, but I got an S6 Avant to replace it. Boy, what a car.
  6. Is the other amp definitely goosed? Have you tried opening it up and drying it? New these units are very pricey. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/4g0035061q/radio-unit-4g0035061q You need component protection removed, that’s not something your average Joe can do, even with VCDS, on used parts. You need someone with access to ODIS software.
  7. Might need to contact them to see if they can do the trims for a right hand drive car.
  8. Look at the link in My previous reply. That store has different versions for different model cars. I found this I just found this on AliExpress: £275.91 | 8 Core Android 14 System Car Radio Tablet For Audi A6 C6 Q7 WIFI 4G Carplay 8+128GB RAM BT GPS Navi Stereo Multimedia Player https://a.aliexpress.com/_EHgiosO
  9. I did this to my old A6 c7 with this unit about a year ago. From AliExpress: £226.70 | 8 Core Android 13 System Car Multimedia Stereo For Audi A6 C7 A7 2012-2018 WIFI 4G 8+128GB RAM Carplay IPS Touch Screen GPS Navi https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ex9lJM2 The process was relatively straightforward but took longer than expected. The installation instructions are translated from Chinese, so took a bit of figuring out. Swapping the mounting bracket took me the longest as there’s no explanation how to take the old one off once you have the screen out. If you don’t do it, then the screen won’t sit flush in the dash. The instructions also don’t make it clear that the rubber shock absorber mounts need to be taken off the old screen and put on the new screen. The seller is very helpful if you get stuck. the unit itself is great. It’s not OEM quality, and can be a bit clunky with random disconnections; but 95% of the time it’s ok. you will need to unpair from the cars original Bluetooth and only pair to the new unit. If you don’t then your phone will always connect to the old system which remains in place. Took me about 8 months to figure that one out. The sound quality is ok. It has a full equaliser control so sound can be customised. Happy to answer any questions.

Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch. Have a look on YouTube buyers guides. Check service history for proof of serving, gearbox oil changed etc. Make sure everything electrical works as some parts such as headlights or AC compressors can be expensive. Issues with the egr and dpf are well documented and make sure the mmi works.
  11. Just a quick update on the musty smell problem in the cabin. I was quoted £210 to get the car up in the air, take off some heat shields to access the drain pipe and clean it out which I thought was a bit steep so I have been searching the web for an alternative solution. I have managed to locate where the drain pipe joins to the bodywork of the car which can be accessed from the drivers side foot well on the right hand side of the centre console tunnel. My car is a UK model right hand drive 17 plate for your information. You need to take out 2 torx bolts one that holds the foot rest on and one that holds the plastic trim on, then you can pull back the carpet to access the pipe. Had trouble pulling off the pipe some comments say you have to twist it 90 degrees but eventually it came off. I then poured some water into the hole in the bodywork and looked underneath the car to see if it was draining, which it was so I am not sure that it was blocked in the first place. However I thought I might as well pour some very hot water with a bit of bleach in it to clear any muck that was left in the pipe. I don’t know if this has cured the smell I will have to wait a few weeks to see if it comes back. The only problem I have now is that someone on a website has said that there is another pipe the same on the other side of the centre console tunnel if so you can only access that by removing the whole of the tunnel which I am not prepared to do. If anyone knows if there is a second pipe on the other side that please let me know. Hope this helps someone. If the smell comes back it’s time for a new car.
  12. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
