  1. So an update! The car has been running ALOT better since I got it back from my excellent mechanics. Mechanic has added below in to the fuel (1/3 of a tank in it) and I think its night and day. This would then point to injectors and a hangover from the watery fuel I picked up a while back. I am still waiting for my delivery of the VCDS so I can have a deeper look, Carly is just not cutting it.
  2. I have an 18 plate, stolen recovered, S3 and it’s brilliant. It did have full audi S/H and I did all the checks mentioned in posts above before I got it. I get 40-42mpg, 45 a few times on a good warm day, cruising on the motorway at 70 in economy mode (dull but economical). If I cruise at 80, it drops to 35-38. Winter it’s around 4mpg less. Round town I use auto mode and it’s low 30’s. I use cruise a lot, even round town as I find the gearbox keeps the low gear. I’ve done 20k and it it’s not missed a beat. Gearbox, haldex are important to get done on time and oil I change at 8k. I am surprised at how much I enjoy it, on the open road in the country it’s great fun and unbelievably quick. Not sure on the engine differences with the facelift between the 15 and 18 plates, but that’s what get on mine.
  3. How long was water sitting in the fuel system Jonny? It may have caused corrosion of the HP pump and/or injectors. Bare in mind too that remapping can itself cause problematic running.
  4. I have had very good history with Carly, (loads of discount codes about too) I am sure that is probably a bad word in this forum but honestly gave me the same codes something like a Topdon did. Having said that I am getting a ross tech but only because nothing else is getting me codes. What service was done? did they service the gearbox?
  5. Glad you're a step closer to getting this resolved, please keep us posted on how you get on
  6. Thanks for the very informative update Tony. I’ve dealt with Andy in the past re. air suspension on a non-Audi, and found him very knowledgeable and helpful. I rebuilt a couple of compressors using his piston rings - to good effect. He should be able to help you with a replacement compressor. It seems there are Chinese struts available for some marques, but not sure of contact or availability. Might be worth dipping into the Jaguar Forum and searching through the X350 section with a search on air suspension. Don’t know about this, but I’ll throw it in:- Consider changing to conventional suspension. Doable? Practical and economic?? Regards, Gareth.
  7. Welcome Tony and sorry to hear of your issue. If you have two blown bags and a leaking tank then I assume this vehicle was sitting on its backside prior to investigation -? This is an air suspension on back only on this isn’t it. Alternative suppliers may well be limited, but you could try Arnotts website for sort of aftermarket replacements. Would be worth putting your reg. no. into Parts in Motion website and see what they come up with. If it were mine, I’d be getting a second opinion from a trusted local independent before progressing this. Please let us know how you get on Tony. Regards, Gareth.
  8. Hi mate. Turned out to be the crank sensor in my case. Pig of a thing to change, my car is the 2.0tdi ultra. if your going to change it, my top tip is unbolt the sensor with the plug still on. Fit the new sensor and then plug it in. An inspection camera helps. hope this helps, certainly cured mine.
