  1. Hello everybody, a quick update relating the problem about the Audi a6 c7 I just decided to buy a new battery and fit it and for to my surprise and all the warning on the dashboard and canbuz communication problems are gone you guys are right. Thank you so much you guys are stars
  2. There is room for healthy debate here, since my understanding is that replacement batteries for pre 2008 vehicles VAG cars do not need coding. Possibilities with your A3 Cliff is that it was either a 2008 model year car, or x years on from new, when your battery needed replacing, it was topical ‘common practice’ to claim they had to be coded. Nick:- Who informs you at 100% certainly that the above is wrong? I appreciate that that is academic in your situation, since no doubt it has been coded whether it needed to be or not - so as I said originally, you can eliminate that as a possibility. Back to your issue - Have you actually measured the current drain on the car ( and incidentally, do you have answers to my original question)? Whatever it is, it has to be considerable, e.g. many amps, rather than mA, but you need to know. Possible culprit at that level of discharge would be discharging back through a faulty alternator (diode??). Yes, I know you say it’s been checked, but you don’t give us any figures to work with. Regards, Gareth.
  3. If I may disagree with one of Gareth's points, my own 2007 A3 did require the battery to be coded to the car so it would be wise to do this first. However I have a feeling in this case that something else is wrong.
  4. Brilliant. Cant beat some real world experience. Thanks pal. And appreciate the prompt responses. Will now mark this as resolved (solution).
  5. Did museum at the ring back in 2015, last year I did the Museum of Mulhouse, Princess Albert of Monaco's car museum , Audi and Porsche museums too. Thanks for your comment 😊
  6. 1 point
Have you had a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up?
  7. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
