  1. Dangerous game you're playing there my friend haha
  2. Hi Piotr, cheers for the response mate. Has it really lasted you that long? That sounds way better than what I'd expected. If you've ever owned any other dash cams, how does it compare? Cheers, Scott.
  3. Glad to see it's all been sorted for you Marty. £30 is great as well - knew it would be a relatively cheap fix. I'll be looking forward to seeing a mod thread from you once you get started no that. 😉
  4. Ah okay - cheers for the feedback. Nextbase make pretty similar dash cams within the same sort of price range but some of the reviews I've seen are mixed. On the one hand there's people saying they're amazing and high quality but on the other hand there's people saying they're inconsistent and buggy. Has anyone reading this ever purchased/owned one? Would love to hear an opinion from this forum...
  5. Excellent stuff. I think that may be one of the most upmarket dash cams I've seen around at the moment, the reviews all seem to be full of praise too. Have you ever owned any other dash cams?
  6. Cheers for the reply Paul mate. How much was it and where did you buy them from?
  7. So, I've been looking to replace my dash cam for the past week or so now. Not really a much-needed upgrade or anything, just giving my current Thinkware f100 dash cam to my nephew as a gift for passing his test. Excellent bit of kit and it's served me well, but now that I'll be purchasing a new one, I'm looking at getting the best on the market I can possibly get. I feel as though once you get up to a certain price range of vehicle, depending on what it is, a dash cam is a must-have really. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been doing plenty of research myself, just keen to see what suggestions people have here in the club. As I'm looking at purchasing a high end dash cam I feel it's important to hear what others have to say rather than just reading (usually paid) reviews etc. I expect this will give a more realistic picture as to what I'm spending my money on. I'll also let you guys know what I think of whatever dash cam I end up buying. Cheers in advance lads, Scott.
  8. Very interesting stuff! I love future concepts and depictions of what motoring/transport may look like in years to come. I'm calling it now that there'll still be people in the year 2197 who still don't indicate haha. If you ask me, there will come a time after which motorists will look back on us using roads to travel on and will laugh and think of us as living in the dark ages! Similar to when we look back on medicine or surgery pre-Germ Theory and laugh at how silly people could be for operating on patient after patient without even washing their dirty tools/aprons/gloves...
  9. Need to be careful when buying part-worns! I just outright avoid them altogether. Especially from eBay though - far too risky. It's sad but you do get some dodgy sellers out there with no regard for safety whatsoever. Much better to pay the extra cash and have the confidence behind the wheel knowing you're secure! 🙂
  10. Any time! Always here to help out and chip in any advice wherever I can. And I sort of know what you mean, it's sad when some forums aren't as active as we wish they'd be, best thing to do is to just become involved in as many threads as you can and hopefully people will see your posts easier/feel more inclined to help. But yeah, be sure to give us an update on this one mate! And I'll let him know you appreciated it! Should be on the forums himself in no time after I force him to make an account haha. If England do it I'll be keen to see this Gareth Southgate tattoo he's allegedly getting on his buttocks haha - also I will do thanks. Even if I'm not looking for advice on something I'll still probably come to you with a question or two some time, always eager to learn more about different manufacturers and models. Cheers, Scott.
  11. Looks great, might have to get myself down there next year with the R8! Would also be a nice treat to meet some fellow members from the forum. Were there many there this year? Always nice to see a VW Harlequin :') one of the funniest cars ever produced.
  12. Just phoned a friend of mine there who used to drive an A3 convertible so not too dissimilar from you . Wasn't really clear if he'd ever had this issue himself but from what I've been told I don't think it's a huge issue, but just an issue relating to the alignment of the windows when you roll them back up? Not an expensive fix by any means though, should be relatively cheap once you go and visit your local garage - couple hundred quid absolute max I'm told, most likely less. Shame it's on Wednesday though -- will have to make sure you don't miss the England game! I could be mistaken as I've never owned a convertible myself so I'll be interest to find out if this was a different problem. Anyway I've let my mate know about the forum and I'll get him to set up an account (even though he now drives a BMW - hope this is allowed?) would still be of help to other drivers on here. Try not to let this put you off Audi too much though, issues like this are usually rare when you drive one. Very very well-built machines and I promise you you'll look back and be glad you made the decision to join the club. 😉 Scott.
  13. I think you're lucky the rain isn't coming til the end of this week... well for me anyway! Did they say when they'd be able to fix this for you? Anyway, despite this unfortunate problem, welcome to the Audi club my friend. 🙂 Did you say this was the first Audi you've driven? Cheers, S.
  14. I love my Audi because of the outstanding build quality and feel of the drive. Absolutely amazing machines and something humans should be proud of creating. I also love German car manufacturers because of their unrivaled attention to detail and also because I'm a bit biased due to my heritage. I also grew up with Audis as my father was the biggest Audi fanatic you'd ever meet, too, so I have quite the loyalty to it.
  15. Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp The Last Supper Portraits Portraits Portraits photos by Freddy Fabris via Huffington Post These are quality hahaha - where can we find more of these?
  16. Hi Gareth, I'm glad you understand! I'm not usually one for a rant but this topic has been in my mind since the weekend, and I guess it just sort of erupted this morning... lol. It does however annoy me when you see a wealthy, young driver in an A Class or a BMW who clearly has no idea about cars or driving, has never cared to teach themselves anything more about said topics, and who clearly hasn't earned a penny of the money spent on their car which almost definitely came from the bank of mum & dad. But I guess that's just the unfair nature of life. I guess I just assumed that this R8 driver was one of the uneducated types. As I mentioned in my reply to Steve, it was a 2016 plate meaning the driver can't have looked at their tyres since... well, ever really. I do feel bad for the lad if it was the dealer's doing though. Anyway, I appreciate the reply! As well as the understanding for my grumpiness haha. Cheers, Scott.
  17. Hmm I can see what you mean, but you'd think people who own cars as costly as R8s would know at least a bit about tyres, tyre brands, etc... And let's not forget that this R8 was a 2016 plate, like my own. Meaning if the dealer is the culprit then the driver must not have looked at their tyres in... Two years? It's unfortunate that dealers (ESPECIALLY main dealers) would be so careless as to put budget tyres on such a beautiful car 😢 I actually feel inclined to start a movement which spreads awareness about taking proper care of your R8!
  18. I was driving down to see the in-laws last weekend and noticed something incredibly strange which, if I'm honest, annoyed me quite a bit. In the village in which the other half's parents live, I saw a 2016 R8 (like my own). Now, a beautiful motor like this shows that you must take incredible care of your cars and that you must be incredibly into cars if you're willing to spend that amount of money on one. You'd think, right? Well, apparently not. This person was driving an R8 with some awful budget tyres on - called "Autogrip" or something like that. These go for £70-80 at best. ??? I'm sitting here at these traffic lights thinking: if you've got a car like that... why treat it like crap with some god awful budget tyres which are only ever suitable for tiny little city cars? Seriously. An R8 with those sorts of tyres? Budget tyres are not safe at all and last about 3 seconds max before you have to replace them again. What's the point? Before purchasing my R8 I knew fine well that I was prepared to splash out as much cash as I needed to ensure every aspect of the vehicle was the best it could be. This investment of money ensures a healthy, long lasting car which should retain more of its value for longer. Now, I know not everyone will have the cash to splash. But seriously? I'd rather get a less expensive car and take proper care of it instead of trying to fool everyone with a flashy car and treating it like crap. As a general rule of thumb, when replacing my tyres I ALWAYS stick to Audi original equipment tyres. Currently have Pirelli P Zero I bought from the asda tyres website. Why? Because they're safe, comfortable, will last me YEARS, and most importantly, are MADE by Audi FOR Audi cars. Apologies for the ranty nature of this post... Someone please try to convince me why this isn't such a bad thing... If you even can...
  19. Did you find out if anyone's interested in this?
