Hi all, so someone hit my door mirror while collecting a Chinese takeaway today. I’ve got a 2005 A3 Sportback and was looking at the facelift mirrors from 2009 onwards with the integrated LED indicators. Just wondering if anybody had done this before and what difference is there in the wiring, even just to make the motor to adjust mirror and heated glass with. I appreciate your help. Thanks 👍🏎

Hi I’ve got a 2005 8P Sportback and managed to upgrade the rear lights to the facelift LED, add LED plate lights & front side lights... no luck so far with headlights as resistors either get too hot and don’t fit inside headlight unit so have to cope with no cover on the back or just don’t stop the errors

Hard to describe but you’ll clearly see in the photo. I have an A3 2005 Sportback where at first just the drivers door now the passenger front seals attached to the bottom of the actual doors start to come off - looks like they’re glued to the door but anybody know where I can get replacements? I know the doors have a plastic trim down the very bottom do I need to replace those?

My EPC light comes on randomly every few months and limits power, I switch it off and on again then it’s alright still with the light on though. Next time I drive completely normal

Upgrade the bumpers to the S-Line ones workout those mouldings on for a new look and facelift rear lights with LED, I’ve got the full S-Line interior to replace my old cloth and wood set. S3 alloys from the facelift too

First of all not judging but what was your thinking behind the red mirror and spoiler? You need a different set of switches and the air con unit is different shape too

If you’re thinking of breaking the A3 with sky roof either complete or breaking it let me know

Not too sure about where to find a tow bar or anything, I know the factory fitted ones has an additional infill in the rear splitter (the light grey bit sound exhaust) and I believe it was removable so you’d never know a towbar was fitted

You can either get a double or single cage for the A3 but this means if you have a double you lose the dashboard cup holder and need a new switch set and air con unit

I have 18” with standard suspension, higher than S-Line and S3 springs

Most have a fold down arm rest coming out from behind your cup holders and your rear ash tray

Maybe an aftermarket alarm fitted or an issue with your fob? Try your other key

I’ve never understood the boot on my 8P. When I first unlock the car I can open it with the button above the rear plate other times I either have to press or hold the boot button on the fob - if I don’t open the boot straight away after unlocking the whole car I have to use the fob

I’ve got the sky roof too and again my clips are broken, dad managed to find me some replacement plastic strips to go on the front of the blind but no idea how to fit them and feel they’ll only break soon after fitting - was thinking of modifying them and adding magnets instead? What do you think?

I actually bought roof rails for my 8P Sportback but decided against drilling through my roof and dealing with the headlining so got some second hand genuine Audi roof bars which also work with my panoramic roof - you can also get rear seats with a load through ski hatch option and fold down rear centre arm rest

I’ve got a 2005 1.6 FSI petrol and the usual age related issues like battery but other than that and changing quite a few cosmetic things to the newer models I love it, still got plenty of power and fun to drive - easy to cruise down the motorway and very happy in city streets... definitely worth getting a panoramic sunroof too if you can

Me too - I just have the standard headlights but looking for LED alternative without the bulb warning lights on dash

What do you mean red light on the bottom? And obvious question, is your interior light switch in the middle position as working before you changed the door card?

I personally don’t like those alloys at all and the ones pictured on your car is what mine came with but upgraded to S3/TTS 18” wheels but it’s up to you, photoshop those onto your car or just browse eBay filter it to black A3s see what they’ve got on

No idea where the wires should go but contact Audi parts or have a browse online for a radio wiring diagram, even a new genuine Audi radio and it should say where the wires should go... I have a spare double din Audi 8P concert radio if you need one?

Might sound weird but I actually like the high stance of my A3 (2005) is an SE model but with all the S Line upgrades besides lowered suspension. I guess because living in London there are so many massive speed bumps just never scrape the bumper
