  1. Hi Gareth Have you checked the battery. Could be a cell has gone down. Tony
  2. Hi Gareth The supply to the charger should be a dedicated circuit from your distribution board, so they could put a meter in but I doubt they would bother. More likely they would start to charge EV's with a road fund licence.
  3. Problem now solved. UK Power sent an engineer out to me and checked the incoming voltage and it was within range. The charger draws nearly 30amp when on full charge so the main house fuse has been changed from 60amp to 100amp. also realised that the surge protection device had failed, so that has been replaced as well. So it seems it is not just a case of buying and plugging in an EV.
  4. Hi. I realise this is not an Audi problem but I have an error with my home OHME charger. The vertical lights are flashing red and showing an error. Contacted OHME they say it is an overcharge problem. They sent me the incoming voltage record for my charger and it it running between 252 v and 238v and this is causing the error. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. My grid supplier says this is just with their range.
  5. Hi Tony I had problems signing in on my E-Tron. I contacted the Audi help line who were extremely helpful. They even took over the MMi and reset the pin and got everything on line again. Big brother can be helpful sometimes. Tony

    Parking Problems

Hi Gareth If the car park in question had ANPR I would think it wouldn't be a major step to get make, model, weight, flashed up on the screen for the jobs worth to issue the ticket. A.I. at it's best. Tony

    Parking Problems

Hi I seem to have read somewhere recently, it must have been it the paper. A guy up north somewhere parked his E-Tron in a car park, purchased a ticket for the correct amount, returned to his car within the allotted time and got a ticket for £60 for being over weight. It seems there was a weight limit of 1750kgs and the E Tron weighs in at 2300kgs. Just wondering if anybody else has come across this. Tony
  9. Hi Tony Welcome to the club. Before I got my E-Tron GT I had a A6 and I had some goodies retro fitted by Autologics. They came to the house, very professional, quick and tidy. Have a look on their site. Tony
  10. Hi The cockpit view on my GT remains as I set it. It doesn't default back to high view unless I change it. I have my regen set to manual so I use the flappy paddles to set it each time I start. Tony

    Wheel Corrosion

Hi Gareth Just looked on The Electoral Register for Beckenham. The was a Hetty S Holloway living in somewhere Beckenham in 1965. Tony

    Wheel Corrosion

Sorry Gareth only sped read it. I now see the connection with Beckenham. Tony

    Wheel Corrosion

18 Overbury Avenue is a victorian house that has been converted into flats. Haven't got a clue about 1947-1965 I don't see the connection between Winterbourne Austin Sixteen and Beckenham. Tony

    Wheel Corrosion

Thanks for your replies Gareth. I can make Cardiff on one charge, but, I would have to stop at Chieveley Services on the way back to recharge. So, when the GT needs cleaning again I'll pop over and leave it with you while I go to lunch if that is OK. Tony

    Wheel Corrosion

Well thanks for that Gareth. I will talk to Audi and see what they suggest. I used to clean my A6 myself but now being over 80 if I get down to clean the wheels I may never get up again. On that note though, I had a job getting some sort of reasonable insurance for the GT. I suppose 80 year olds aren't supposed to have £90k GT's. I was quoted anything up to £4.5K per year with full NCB. I eventually got it for £1.2K with Esure. Does put you off a bit from owning the car of your dreams.

    Wheel Corrosion

Hi Gareth I have never washed it. I take it to the hand car wash close to me every couple of weeks. Tony

    Wheel Corrosion

Hi E -Tron GT now 6 months old and the alloys have started to corrode already. Took the car to my Audi dealer and they agreed they need refinishing. The car has gone in today and I now have a new E-Tron SUV as a courtesy car. Audi have been very good and it should be ready on Friday. After driving the SUV, nice car but prefer my GT. Tony
  19. Sorry Tom, haven't got a clue. I took it to the garage and they plugged in their computer. I think it is just a tick box thing and everything was OK afterwards. Tony
  20. Hi Tom Have you had the new battery "paired" to the car. The cars system needs to know that a new battery has been installed. I had this some years ago and it caused all sorts of electrical gremlins until I had it done. Tony

    E-Tron GT update

Hi. My beautiful E-Tron GT has to go back to Audi. It has developed corrosion on two of the alloy wheels. Audi are going to have them refinished for me (F.O.C.) and they are lending me an E-Tron car. So not all bad news . Tony

    E-Tron GT update

Hi I have had my e-Tron GT 5 weeks now and I seem to have learnt most of it's secrets. It is actually a stunning car in every respect. It's very economical to run, to charge on my home charger to 80% (recommended) costs about £16.00 on my energy tariff which gives me approx. 260 miles. I always shop at Tesco's now as you can charge for free there. I usually find a small group of people looking at the car when I get back to it. The performance is blistering 0-60 in 4.3 seconds 0-100 in 9 secs is fast enough for anybody. The only drawback I have found is that the doors are rather on the narrow side ( Should it have been a 2 Door) My son is 6'3ins tall and when he puts the front seat back he is staring a the B post. But on the whole I wouldn't change it for the world. Tony
  24. Hi. Just got my new E-Tron GT and I must agree with you I was a little disappointed with the interior. I traded my A6 Avant Black Edition for the E-Tron and it was much better inside. Retractable covers over the trinket boxes and drinks holders ect. What do you mean by S mode? Mine changes the 2 speed box automatically under brisk acceleration. Probably not doing the transmission much good through. Tony
  25. Hi. I believe the lock spirals into the mechanism. Try pushing the flap opposite side to the hinge as you pull the lanyard. The mechanism may have jammed in the down position. Tony
