Tracker + 360 Camera Recording + Snooper
Hi Sam You could try Autologics. I had a R.V. Camera fitted by them on a A6 I had. Really good, quick and tidy installation. Tony

Charge Flap not Closing
Hi. Had a niggling problem with the right hand charge flap not wanting to close. When I did get it to closed and locked, it opened again when I unlocked the car. So a trip to the Main Dealer was needed. I was probably going to be told "you will have to book it in Sir, our next available time is July" .But, "hang on" the receptionist said I will get a techy to come out and have a look for you. Anyway 10 minutes later I am back on the road with a normally operating flap. The techy said the mechanism gets a bit sluggish sometimes. Probably a squirt of WD40 was used. I was so pleased with the service and in a state of euphoria I gave the techy a fiver. Tony

Screeching noise
Hi Peter I don't know that much about manual cars and gearboxes, but, it sounds like the clutch release bearing has seen better days. How many miles has the car done? Tony

Charging issues
Good Morning Mick. Gareth is definitely right. We both paid Audi an armful of money for these GT's. So they should look after their product. However, I found that when mine was new you had to be sure that the charge plug was fully home in the socket and that there was no tension on the charge cable. I have had mine nearly a year now and the charge port and plug fit nice and smoothly. Tony

GRIDSERVE charging problem
Hi Martin Glad you got it sorted. I have had trouble at charge stations remembering which side is which. You feel such a fool driving in, cable won't reach. Driving out again, turning round, try again. I do agree with you the plug has to be really seated in without any tension on the cable. Happy Charging Tony

Partition Net/Dog Guard etc. for disposal.
Good Morning I have a partition net/dog guard ( part number 4G9 861 691 94 H) suitable for A6 Avant. Free of Charge if anybody would like it. Also I have an Autochair mobility scooter hoist for the A6 Avant. Cost £1400 also free of charge, this comes with modified rear boot screen and side panel, to anybody who needs it. Tony

Front badge
Hi Jim When I changed the badges on my previous A6 I found that there was a multitude of different sizes. I purchased the new badges from E Bay who actually gave the sizes of the badges. So, I accurately measured the original and luckily chose the correct one. Even then one of the lugs was in the wrong place but the others lined up ok. Tony

GRIDSERVE charging problem
Hi Martin. Just been reading about this on the internet yesterday. Most of the problems the "experts" were saying were due to bad mobile phone and Wi Fi coverage. I have only had one problem at Pease Pottage services on the A23. Luckily there are about 10 Gridserve charge stations there, so after trying couple I eventually got a charge. Tony

Dechrome
Hi Dan. I would think paint would last that long being bombarded by grit off the road. But, you can buy a proper black surround and grill for the A3 from E Bay for £120. Tony

Simply Audi - 14th July 2024
I was really looking forward to the show. We should organise our own somewhere.

Hi new owner 🙂
Hi Ian. I changed the Badges on my Audi. The front one is held on by fairly strong clips. Start at the bottom with a sharp knife and prise the badge away from the grill just a little so that you can get a flat blade screw driver in and work your way along the bottom a bit at a time. If I remember I think there are 6 clips. You will find that it will come off OK. Tony

Range warning
Hi Ciaran I have never really checked the MPKWH on my GT by you have got me interested now. I have had the car since June 2023 and have covered 2292 miles. The long term memory tells me that the that the MPKWH is 2.2 miles. I mostly only make short journeys. Joe is quite correct in saying temperature, aerodynamics come into play. The GT is quite a slippery shape which all helps. Tony

Range warning
Good Morning. Your range does seem rather low. The car weighs in at 2500kgs and with a 95kw battery I would expect more. My Etron GT has a 93kw battery and weighing 2300kgs I get a range of about 240-250. Not the 305 they advertise.

Etron trickle charger tripping off my electricity
Hi Dean I had loads of trouble with my charger initially with it tripping out. The problem was over voltage. I was having voltage surges of up to 254v. Ohme reset the charger, I upgraded to 100amp main fuse. (the charger was drawing approx 30 amp on its own), made sure the anti surge system was OK and no more trouble. Tony

Weight Limits
I notice that the Rotherhithe Tunnel under the Thames now has a 2 ton limit. So that is out of bounds now.

Parking Problems
Hi Jeremy. I do wonder some times about my e-tron weighing in at 2500kg. The average weight of a car in 2001 was 1328kg it is now 1600kg according to the M of T. So, it is increasing quite rapidly. Tony

Audi Customer Services
It was good to talk to somebody who really wanted to help. We all spend a lot of money on these cars and support the marque though thick and thin. It was refreshing to know that there are people out there to help us. Tony
