Rear seat drinks holders!!??
Hi Caoimhin I seem to have the polar opposite to you. My E-Tron GT has rear seat cup holders set in the armrest and I hate them. I think it detracts from the supposedly luxury inside of the car. I can't see any rear seat passengers wanting to rest their arm on hard plastic for any length of time. I am having a leather cover made to fit over the armrest to hide them from site. Tony

Boot foot swipe feature
Hi Rick A friend of mine disabled his boot swipe using his vehicle scanner. Don't ask me how, that sort of thing is way beyond my pay scale. Tony

Wheel Spacers
Hi Keith I have always been a bit cautious of wheel spacers. I think they put more loading on the axle bearings which they were not designed for. Also as a modification you will also have to inform your insurance company. BTW, welcome to the club. Tony

Greetings!
Hi David Sounds like blocked jets. They need cleaning out as dirt and grit can get into them. Definitely attend to the rear washer, if that gets blocked in can blow the supply pipe off. Which means that the tailgate trim would have to be removed and that is not easy, and BTW Hello. Tony

Electric v Petrol
That is good for your Jag. The only thing is with the closure of the M25/A3/M3 I was travelling on A and B roads for 25% of the journey and you can't just drop in to any petrol station for a top up when the battery is low.

Electric v Petrol
Hi Took the E-Tron GT on it's first long journey yesterday to the Simply Audi Day. I did some basic calculations after the trip. I covered 211 miles only taking 205 miles from the battery and it had cost me £22.05 to fully charge the battery (291 miles with out aircon, 261 with) from 30 miles max, which gave me approx. 65 M.P.G for the journey, and I have still got 50 miles left in the battery. Which is not bad for a car of it's size and ability. Tony

Simply Audi - 14th July 2024
Hi to Simply Audi attendees. Just a quick note to remind you that the M25 is CLOSED this coming weekend. This affects the A3 and the M3. Traffic will be heavy on the detour routes as well. Goodwood Festival of Speed is also on in the same area. Tony

Key Battery
Hi. Had a message on screen today, "Change Key Battery". Which seems quite quick as the car is only just over a year old. Anyway could not get access to the battery so a trip to Audi. They very nicely changed it for me FOC. Now warning message is still on the screen. They said it will reset but it hasn't so far. Any thoughts? Tony

GRIDSERVE charging problem
Hi Martin Sorry can't help you with your problem. But, I have never tried to charge at a Tesla point. Are they type 2 and how do you pay. Is it swipe card or do you have to have a Tesla card? Tony

Q4 Etron Ohme issue
Hi Joanne I haven't had your problem, but I had a few problems regarding the set-up on the MMI. I got on to the Audi Help Line and they were able to take the MMI over and sorted it out for me. On a one to one basis, they sent me a link so that using my mobile phone as a camera so they could see what was on the screen and then they were able to guide me through the system and sort the problem. I hope you get it resolved. Tony

Rear washer not working
Hi I had this on my A6 Avant. The pipe had come off inside the tail gate. If the clips that hold the tail gate trim on are anything like the A6, they are very fierce and they distort when you try to put the trim back. Might be an idea to have some spares before you do the job Tony

Car Insurance
Hi Gareth I am definitely at the upper end of the spectrum. I have had my bus pass for 20 years. It does seem wrong that we are penalised when we get older. We do less miles, don't drive around the country side like mad, I just seem to commute backwards and forwards to the Golf Club and a on Thursdays I try to go some where like the coast or a museum. I have only done 3500 miles since last June. So, we should be quite a good risk. Tony

Car Insurance
Hi Gareth Yes, Direct Line etc said that they could not insure me. Probably because of my age and the car. Also I was quite disappointed at the value of my car, it seems to have dropped quite a lot. But still, I enjoy driving it, it still turns heads as there are not many about and it is cheapish to run other than the insurance and possibly the RFL next year. Tony

Car Insurance
Hi Just tried Darwin. Very nice but wont insure me. Admiral valued the car at 57500. I think this needs more looking into Tony

Car Insurance

Car Insurance
Hi Just got my car insurance renewal notice. Last year £1470.12 pa this year £4166.28 pa. Been looking around for quotes best at the moment is Admiral at £2055.14. Adrian Flux was over £4k. Direct Line and The AA will not insure me. I have full no claims, no accidents, no convictions and no insurance if I can't find a better quote. Tony
