Hi Steve I test drove the Jeacoo and I felt it was exactly what I wanted. I was able to do a good deal with the dealer, got 2 years service contract, ceramic bodywork coating, car mats all round including a boot mat and a holdall full of goodies, complete with a fire extinguisher, which was a bit disconcerting. The dealer was amazing, tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits. They are definitely here to sell cars.

Just an update. Jeacoo going well, have now done 550 miles and it is averaging 60.5 mpg. I am getting 58 electric miles, even in this cold weather. It is an endearing car with lots of nice things about it, and of course there are things which are a bit, sort of err? But, all this car for £30k, 7 years warranty and the main dealer just around the corner, it's not at all bad. Tony

You may remember I sold my Audi E Tron GT at the end of August due to insurance cost (£3K) and also the RFT (£450). Incidentally it hasn't sold yet. I thought I would bid you all farewell and thank you for the info, and tips over the years I had Audis. I have just purchased a new Jeacoo J7 SHS Hybrid. It's not bad. Loads of goodies, 56 miles on electric, 700 miles total tank range, albeit I have only done 125 miles so far. It's good value, pretty good finish, but it is definitely not an Audi. I really can't understand anybody even considering driving a car with tyre damage such as this. It not only your families safely, think about others on the road you may injure with a blow out!

Perhaps you bought my GT?

Hi When I had my GT I had a problem with some odd warning dialogue. My problem was that the 12 volt battery was running flat as I was only doing short runs. Once I had taken it on a good long journey the faults disappeared.

Hi Just thought I would let you know that the Audi E-Tron GT has now been sold. I took a positive look at the financial side of keeping the car and decided it was no longer viable. With the insurance at nearly £3k plus the new road fund tax, and the luxury car tax it was looking as if it would cost me £300 per month just to keep it in the garage watching it depreciating. I will probably buy a hybrid of some description. Thank you all for the info and support over the years it has been entertaining and helpful. I still have my other love which is a 1947 MG TC. No MOT. No road fund tax. Insurance £150 p.a. But it is not an Audi. Tony

Just returned from my mini road trip. first of all didn't know that Audi had put a charge limit on the car. No more than 80%. Therefore I was only getting approx 200 miles per charge. Stopped at Fleet Services to charge as it was a bit tight to get to Exeter, no problems. Stopped at Exeter to charge tried 4 chargers before managing to get one to work. A lot of them had been vandalised (The card reader defaced) Eventually charged to 80%. Onwards to St Austell. 2nd day. The Eden Project, Mevagissey and The Lost Gardens of Helagan. Realised I didn't have enough in the battery to get back to Exeter, had to return to the A30 Cornwall services to charge. Day 3 Left St Austell and recharged at Exeter, and on to Fleet, recharged again. Arrived Home with 60 miles in the battery. Didn't do the Cheddar Gorge as suffering from range anxiety. Not overwhelmed by the GT range performance. On analysis I did 560 miles and it cost me just shy of £150 in charge fees. Assuming fuel at £6.37 a gallon the car did 24 mpg. Very disappointed.

Hi. I have an unused rear dog guard for a A6 Avant. I think it fits between the rear seats and the luggage space, didn't have a dog so never used. If any body would like it the price would be...........Free of charge!! Tony

Hi. Just arranged a mini road trip to the West Country. Day 1. Travel To St Austell to stay overnight in 16th century pub. Stopping at Exeter Services for a recharge. Day 2. Travel to The Eden Project, then on to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Mevagissey. Back to the pub overnight. Day3. Travel to The Cheddar Gorge, stopping at Exeter Services for recharge. Then home. Possibly stopping at Fleet or Cobham Services for a quick charge. Might not sound much but it just takes a bit more organising than just stopping for fuel. This comes down to the problem of only being able to charge to 80% at the moment. Tony

Car was returned today, no problems. Nicely valeted and fully charged. (80% only)

It is a bit. But, Audi South East said they can do the checks in a day, which is better. so, it is booked in this Wednesday 2nd July.

Hi. Just received a letter from Audi UK recalling my car yet again. "Checking High Voltage Battery" The car has to be in the workshop for at least 4 days, Audi say that you WILL be given a courtesy car, but we will see if Audi South East renege on this as usual to me. On reading the letter it seems that the car will need to go into the workshop for 4 days for battery checks every 90 days until they release the new delayed diagnosis soft ware. Until then it says "Do not charge beyond 80%". So now I have a car which which cost me £85k, and will be in and out of the workshop and only 80% range. Tony

Hi Andreas. I have the app and it is very useful. I can't remember how I got it though. I have found the Audi Help line very helpful, I know others have not. I think the App is free. Tony

Hi The Bromley Motoring Pageant is on 27th July. It is down at The South of England Show Ground now. I used to show my Lotus there, so I had a E-Mail to from them for this year. I replied to tell them the Lotus was gone but I now have the Audi E Tron GT. Much to my surprise they want me to show it as the "Way to the Future". I will send you the pictures. Tony

First of all I must thank you all for the imput into my Insurance woes. I have now received my new renewal quote from Admiral. It has come in a few pence short of £2k. Which I am more than happy about. So I go on another year driving my fabulous E-Tron GT. Tony

Hi Dan. No, you just said that you were unable to offer me cover. I know that the problem is that I am 81 years old driving a high powered car. Also unfortunately I picked up a speeding ticket last month which was most annoying. I was taking my son and his wife to Gatwick at 03.40 in the morning and set a camera off in Selsdon. It clocked me at 34 mph!!! and I got a £100 fine and 3 points for that. I know that the insurance is going to expensive but I have a car which is my pride and joy. I have had it 2 years now and have only done 6100 miles so it is not as if I am chasing up and down motorways with it. Tony

I think you are correct Gareth. What really upsets me is that when I thought things are jogging along nicely my wife became ill and unable to get about, hence the A6 Avant for her mobility scooter. Then unfortunately she passed away in 2022. I thought I would get myself a car completely for me, and now people are trying to take that away from me as well. Sorry went off on a tangent.
