Econ Mode blower
ouch! that's expensive! I can see why you want to leave it until absolutely necessary (e.g.boiling hot summers days)

London Audi Meet up?
It's no so much the distance as I used to drive from Bournemouth to Farnborough every day to work but it only took around an hour. It's as you get to around the M25 that it starts to take the time to get into London. But never say never, I'll see what I can do. Keep me in the loop on this one, could be quite a popular event being in London. Cheers Trev (no problems with the abbreviated version...just makes me sound common, lol)

Drl replacment
I believe it is a case of accessing the rear of the headlamp from within the inner wheel arch area....very fiddly! Maybe take it to Halfords, let them have the hassle and to be fair, they've probably done loads and know exactly how to do it in no time at all.

Audi A5 3.0 TDI S Line Special Edition S Tronic Quattro 2d
Hi Clifford...welcome to the Forum Same with any car really, check it has full service history (preferably from the dealers as they will have carried out recalls and updates) also ensuring quality parts have been fitted. Maybe worth seeing if you can get an extended warranty just to be on the safe side of things. Let us know how it all goes, Cheers Trevor

VAG code readers
Mostly the cheap 'scanners' are in fact just 'code readers' but with PC based diagnostic platforms you can carry out a whole range of other functions such as live data, actuator functions, reprogramming/resetting, etc. Probably best to read what each one promises to do.

London Audi Meet up?
Sounds like a great idea Bradley...shame I'm so far away or I'd pop up and join in. Good luck with this and if you need help sorting it out, just let me know

Radiator cooling fans
Hi Russ....welcome to the Forum As Gareth has mentioned about the operating temperature, I would ask when it started to happen and did anything affect it (work carried out, etc) Also, is the Air Con switched off as this has a seperate fan, so it could be the system finishing off the recirculation and shutting down, etc. Cheers Trevor

A4 3.0 V6 TDI Quattro cutting out glow plug light flashing
Hi Tim.....welcome to the Forum One possibility in the cold weather is the glow plug(s) getting weak and also another possibility is the pump is struggling to pick up with low fuel level, so may be best to not let it drop so low (and on an incline, which may not help). Have known this on some cars that have a saddle tank (one that draws fuel from both sides of the tank) where the lift pump from the reserve side struggles to transfer fuel and therefore the pressure drops. Let us know what you find to be the fault. Cheers Trevor

Econ Mode blower
Here are some A/C compressors for when you are ready to fit one...didn't think they were too bad price really...obviously plus a regas charge http://www.audiownersclub.com/parts-results/A4-S4-RS4/A-C-Compressors--Clutches/33543

Econ Mode blower
I see what you're saying Paul but what I mean is that if there is a fault with the system in any way then maybe start with fixing the fault and going from there.

Audi A6 Turns off After EPC Warning
Hi Cubex...welcome to the Forum I would check the battery condition with a heavy discharge tester to determine the strength / capacity and if necessary replace with a quality battery. I believe there are two batteries on the A6 one in the engine for the powertrain and one in the boot for the body control....if so, check both because this can affect the balance. If all is okay there, then suspect the alternator Let us know how you get on with this one Cheers Trevor

Econ Mode blower
Hi Paul....welcome to the Forum I would start with replacing = the compressor and a regas as will need replacing prior to the hot weather coming along. After that, I would look at the system operation only because if the gas pressure is low and the compressor not working then the system will pretty much shut down to only allow basic operation of the HVAC system. Let us know how this progresses Cheers Trevor

coolant leak
Sorry, didn't know the relevance of the 'xxxxxx' but I can now see it is in the area of the water pump so this may be the source of the vapour. If this is the case then you'll need to replace the water pump along with the cambelt...which is probably about due for replacement.

My S3's Exhaust has stopped Popping?
Hi James...welcome to the Forum I would imagine you are correct in your theory of not allowing the engine to breathe. Short runs and not allowing the engine to heat up effectively can lead to the engine clogging up along with the turbo, exhaust system and associated after-treatment emissions components. I would start by running some cleaner through the fuel & engine and give the car a long run at high(ish) revs to allow the turbo to spool up for prolonged periods and the gases to push through all the crud. Works every time, but you may need to do this more frequently to get it back to where it should be. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

coolant leak
Hi Sean...welcome to the Forum I'm sorry but I can't see any coolant leak...probably my poor eyesight ! If you can take some more pictures when the engine cover is removed then it may show something there. Cheers Trevor

VW spiecialists repairs
Hi Julian....welcome to the Forum Generally, the only time an oil & filter change takes place is if the car is in for an annual service, or if the engine oil becomes contaminated (by coolant for example). The DPF and Valve Cover Gasket would not necessitate the replacement of the engine oil or filter as such. Cheers Trevor
