Hi Caroline, Have you checked the bonding around the top of the windscreen?

Can you see the disc through the wheel? If you can, put a straight edge on one side of the disc & measure to the centre of the wheel, double it and that will give you the diameter.

Have you attempted to measure the discs?

What a brilliant tip. Never even thought of something like that.

If the garage that reconditioned the turbo are willing to take it back in then that's the way to go. A few quid on fuel versus a few hundred quid on another turbo is a no brainer. Even if the turbo turns out to be ok at least that one cause off the list.

To be honest, I'd have it plugged into a decent diagnostics before anything.

Welcome Zack, Sounds like its burning oil somewhere, piston rings, valve seals, turbo maybe. There's a reason you only paid £400 for it.

My apologies, I thought it was the rubber bits for your trolley jack you was after.

Tons of them on Fleabay & Amazon, all pretty cheap.

Seems a very oddball way to purchase a car to me. I would have walked away as soon as they asked for £3K non refundable deposit before you can have it inspected.

Did you have the sensors changed on the rear when replacing the pads? I would imagine a diagnostic will be able to point you in the direction of which sensor is throwing the code.
