By my estimation I'm a couple of K miles away from needing to fill up the AdBlue tank.
I'm almost certain it has the 24 litre tank.
Where do you guys buy your AdBlue from? These seem like fairly common:
Carlube AdBlue 10L with spout : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive
Has anyone used a pump instead of the containers?

Update: I replaced the battery last week, and while I was doing it I unplugged and cleaned all the seat connectors but the backrest does not heat up.
Not sure if I can be bothered to claim on the warranty / get it fixed because it's not something I need from the car.

I'd add a drop of Kurust (or something similar) and do exactly as @RoyC has mentioned at 60% paint 40% clear to finish the job

Thanks for your contribution here.
Do you have any before and after photos of the products being used?
-
It doesn't matter if you believe it or not, unfortunately. It's a fact 🙂

@Laurentiu it's inevitable.
No amount of fuel additives or spray cleaners will get rid of the problem.
When the EGR cooler and valve have been replaced, you can however take measures to hopefully delay the inevitable......

Does anyone know if the activated carbon with fungicidal effect filters are any better than the activated carbon version?
For the A5 B9 the price difference is almost double (£62 vs £32).
The service interval of 2 years is recommended however I can't help questioning if a mileage or duration (whichever is soonest) would be more appropriate 🤔

I'm intrigued to know how you've discovered this.
For what it's worth, I think what you've been told is correct.

Big red are awesome for piston kits and exchange callipers.

Always remember to brake when there is a solid tone.....otherwise you could impact something (like I did) 😄

No because now I know it’s the pulley and not the starter motor I’m not too worried about it, plus I got 12 months warranty on the car when I purchased it so if it decides to get worse then I’ll get it sorted
We've had the Golf for 2 years now, and it hasn't got noticeably worse.

Engine noise from cold start I think the original post was called, I’m new to this club as I have just purchased an Audi with this fault
Did you replace it on your car?

We have a Golf Mk7 1.4 TSI which makes the same noise at 0.05-0.06 in the first post at every start up.

Are we referring to the noise at 0:05-0.06 in the original post?

I've not heard of Hengst before but happy to learn.
Understood re the branding.
I've just purchased two Varta from Battery Megastore on eBay as there was a 10% off coupon too (and one for the wife's car as hers measured 11.6V).
Thanks again for the direction on that.

Thanks for the heads up on Battery Mega Store
I bought the equivalent Varta for my B8 however, something I did notice was fluid leaked out of the breather plug and stripped a little paint in the tray.
There was a tube to insert on one side which I assumed was for this purpose. Maybe I shouldn't have removed both transport plugs?
I'm avoiding Bosch since the filter issue and no response from their support team 😀

Thanks Gareth. I'll be purchasing this when I know I'll be home for the day.

And yes, you're right about the coding. The guys over at Ross-tech have made it very easy

See my last comment bud, try that out and see how you get on, let me know!
Thank you.
The car battery voltage has been reducing for several months. It's now on 11.9V so I'll tackle the heated seat when I replace the battery in a few weeks, and report back.

My A5 has the same fault.
I may get round to resolving this.
Let us know how you get on.

Not sure if this is true for A7, but if the A5 B8 was overfilled with oil, it could enter the bottom of air filter housing which directly in line is the MAF sensor that will cause the static fault light if dirty 🤔
Maybe someone can confirm or deny this.
Either way, I'd be tempted to spend £12 and 10 minutes removing and cleaning the MAF sensor. Won't do any harm.

Sounds like a classic door lock module.
Have you tried pressing 'unlock' twice on the Fob?

Such valuable information here guys - thanks for the clarification 🙂
